USDA Oilseed Crush Report Preview: Soybean crush likely to fall to 5.81 million st in January

WASHINGTON, Feb. 28: The U.S. Department of Agriculture is to release its monthly oilseed processing report on Tuesday. Analysts on average expect U.S. soybean crush to fall to 5.811 million short tons, or 193.7 million bushels, in January 2022, according to a survey.

If this expectation materializes, it would be lower than the record crush of 198.2 million bushes in December 2021 and 196.5 million bushes in January 2021.

Analysts’ forecasts ranged from 193 million bushels to 194.3 million bushels, with a median of 193.9 million bushels.

For comparison, members of the National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA) crushed 182.16 million bushels of soybeans in January, down from a record crush of 186.438 million bushes in December.
