Strategic Grains cuts EU soybean production forecast by 10%
Foreign media, September 5 news: Strategic Grains released its monthly report on Monday, lowering its 2022/23 EU-27 soybean production forecast to 2.49 million tons, down 290,000 tons or 10.4% from the August forecast of 2.78 million tons. . If the new production forecast materializes, it would be 7.3% lower than the 2.69 million tonnes in 2021/22.
This month, Strategic Grains maintained the soybean planting area at 1.06 million hectares, an increase of 11.2% over the previous year.
Yields are forecast at 2.35 tons per hectare, down from last month’s forecast of 2.63 tons per hectare and 16.6% lower than the previous year’s 2.81 tons per hectare.
