Soybean planting 30% complete

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s weekly crop report on Monday showed that U.S. corn planting was 49 percent complete, at the top end of analysts’ forecasts, easing concerns that more corn was being planted to soybeans this year.

Soybean planting is 30% complete, still far behind the 58% a year earlier and the five-year average of 39%. Analysts noted that soybean plantings remain slow in some major producing regions, including North Dakota and Minnesota.
