SNA: Brazilian soybean production in 2022/23 to increase by 20.8% year-on-year
Foreign media news on December 13: Brazil’s soybean production in 2022/23 is expected to reach 153 million tons, an increase of 20.8% over the previous year’s 126.9 million tons, said Elio Sirimaco, vice president of the Brazilian National Agricultural Association (SNA). .
Sirimako said that the main reason for the increase in soybean production was that the sown area increased by 1.98 million hectares to 43.79 million hectares. He warned that weather conditions could change the outcome of the forecast. For example, bad weather in late December, especially in the southern regions, led to significantly lower soybean production than earlier expected.
