Informa expects U.S. soybean yields and production to be higher than government estimates
Foreign media, August 7 news: Private analyst firm Essence Huamai Agribusiness Corporation (formerly Informa) on Friday forecast 2022 U.S. soybean production at 4.530 billion bushels, with an average yield of 51.8 bushels per acre.
Both figures were above USDA’s July forecasts of 4.505 billion bushels and 51.5 bushels per acre.
Informa forecasts 2022 U.S. corn production at 14.497 billion bushels, with a yield of 176.9 bushels per acre; for comparison, the U.S. Department of Agriculture forecast corn production in July at 14.505 billion bushels, with a yield of 177 bushels per acre.
The USDA plans to release its first survey-based yield estimates next Friday (August 12), which will be based largely on farmer surveys and satellite imagery data, as the USDA no longer conducts objective yield surveys in August.
