In November 2022, China’s soybean imports from the United States fell by 6.9% year-on-year
Customs data released on December 20 showed that China imported 3.38 million tons of soybeans from the United States in November, a decrease of 6.9% from 3.63 million tons in the same period last year.
The reason for the slowdown in imports is that the water level of the Mississippi River is too low, which affects the logistics of soybeans in the Midwest to the US Gulf ports.
In the first 11 months of this year, China imported 23.01 million tons of soybeans from the United States, lower than the 26.2 million tons in the same period last year.
In addition, China imported 2.54 million tons of soybeans from Brazil in November, a year-on-year decrease of 32.3%.
In the first 11 months of this year, China imported 51.83 million tons of soybeans from Brazil, down from 56.5 million tons in the same period last year.
According to customs data, China imported 7.35 million tons of soybeans in November, a year-on-year decrease of 14%.
