IMEA raises forecast for new soybean production in Mato Grosso to 41.5 million tonnes
Foreign media, June 7 news: Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (IMEA) released a report, raising the state’s 2022/23 soybean production forecast to a record 41.5 million tons, up from the previous month’s forecast of 3948 tons. Soybean sown area is expected to be 11.8 million hectares, an increase of 5.23% year-on-year.
Soybeans for the 2022/23 season will be planted from November.
IMEA also lowered its forecast for corn being harvested to 39.156 million tonnes from a forecast of 39.34 million tonnes last month, as the crop was affected by drought.
