EU soybean production in 2021/22 is expected to increase by nearly 3% year-on-year
Foreign media news on December 8th: The consulting agency Strategic Grain Company issued a monthly report stating that it maintains the soybean production expectations of the 27 EU countries in 2021/22 because the adjustments in yield and planting area offset each other.
According to the report, EU soybean production in 2021/22 is expected to be 2.65 million tons, which is consistent with earlier forecasts, an increase of 2.8% from the 2.58 million tons in 2020/21.
The EU soybean planting area in 2021/22 is expected to be 950,000 hectares, slightly lower than the previous forecast of 960,000 hectares and an increase of 4.1% from the 910,000 hectares in 2020/21.
The EU soybean yield in 2021/22 is expected to be 2.79 tons per hectare, slightly higher than the earlier forecast of 2.75 tons per hectare, and a decrease of 1.3% from the 2.82 tons per hectare in 2020/21.
