BAGE: Argentina soybean planting 92.5% complete as of January 12
Foreign media, January 16 news: The weekly report released by the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange (BAGE) stated that in the week ended January 12, 2022, Argentina’s 2021/2 soybean planting progress was 92.5%, 5.8 percentage points higher than a week ago.
The exchange estimated Argentine soybean plantings at 16.4 million hectares this season, down from an earlier forecast of 16.5 million hectares and down from 16.9 million hectares in 2020/21 due to higher yields from growing corn in Argentina.
The exchange expects the country to produce 44 million tonnes of soybeans in 2021/2022, up from 43.1 million tonnes in the previous year.
Argentine soybean planting began at the end of October, and harvesting began in March and ended in May.
